I'll admit it, I'm a fan of trikes.

No, not these, but these.

As you should already know, I happen to own a rather old and decrepit 24" 3-speed.

Why do I like them?
- Stability: No chance of landing on my shoulder a third time due to slick pavement.
- Hauling capacity: Instead of wearing a sometimes heavy backpack, I can just drop it in the basket.

However, there are some downsides...
- Turning: You HAVE to go into a turn at a slow speed, or you will tip over. Or you may just drift into the curb. Either way, not fun, and there is the potential for damage to you or the trike.
- Weight: Obviously, trikes tend to weigh more than bikes. This can be somewhat of a double-edged sword in that it gives you more exercise (and do I ever need it), but it can be a serious bitch to get it up a hill.

Also: I've learned the hard way that adult tricycles were not meant for off-roading.

I was intending to get a split-differential for mine (so that I can power both rear wheels) and repaint it, but the frame is so old and rusted that I think it's actually starting to buckle a bit. NOT GOOD. OnO

Obviously, I'm going to need to 'upgrade' to a better trike, eventually.

My options/ideas:
Trailmate Lowrider 20" - $609.95

Trailmate Regal Hauler 24" - $649.95

Worksman Executive Tricycle - $549.00

HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS - $4,390
(Hey, I can dream...)

Alternately, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these and do a conversion (kits usually cost around $200+shipping).
2006 Stingray Spoiler
Classic Stingray

There's actually a classic Stingray rusting away at my grandpa's house. Hehehe...

EDIT:
Just found out that classic Stingrays can sell from anywhere between $200 and $1000. D:
Maybe I'll just restore it and sell it (give my grandpa a cut, obviously), then use that money to buy a new trike (or a used bike + conversion kit).
